OPP To Target Aggressive Driving This Canada Day Long Weekend

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is gearing up for the Canada Day long weekend. Traditionally this is a busy weekend on Perth County roadways as cottage and beach enthusiasts travel through the county on the way to their destinations.

Perth County OPP officers will be keeping a close eye out for people who display aggressive driving behaviour, whether in a motor vehicle, boat or all-terrain vehicle.

The OPP is reminding the public that speeding is not the only form of aggressive driving they will be watching out for over the weekend. Following vehicles too closely, improper lane changes, weaving in and out of lanes, failing to stop and look at stop sign controlled intersections and basic disregard for safety in and around the many construction zones within Perth County will be high on their priority. By failing to abide by traffic laws and aggression while driving, all road users are placed at risk.

As they have done in the past, the OPP will be looking to every motorist, boater and trail user to partner with them for a safe and enjoyable weekend.
