(KINCARDINE, ON) – South Bruce OPP Constable Murray Woodman is the School Resource Officer at the Kincardine District Secondary School. Over the past few months, Cst Woodman sold tickets for the National Hockey League Alumni Dream Draw 2012 which supports Ontario Minor Hockey and local youth programs. As a result of his efforts, Woodman raised $390 to donate to a local youth program. On January 25th, 2012 at 11:20 am, Woodman presented the money to KDSS teacher Amy Snobelen who organizes and operates the Breakfast for Learning program at the high school. Each morning, healthy food snacks are placed in the school hallway for students. Snobelen notes that more than 2,000 snacks are consumed each month from a program that costs between $4,000 and $5,000 to operate each year. “Since the Breakfast for Learning program started at KDSS, we’ve seen an increase in student engagement in class and a positive change in student behaviour. The donation from Cst Woodman is very much appreciated as we rely on donations to run Breakfast For Learningâ€Â.
