(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is offering residents 2 presentations on illegal street drugs and abuse of prescription drugs.
Walkerton District Community school cafeteria on Wednesday May 3, 2017 starting at 7:00 p.m.
Kincardine District Secondary school library on Thursday May 4, 2017 starting at 7:00 p.m.
The list of presenters includes members from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), an OPP Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and Mr. Jim Wei of Brown’s Pharmacy.
The visual presentations will include: Drug Identification, Effects on the body, Paraphernalia, Street lingo, Prescription drug abuse and Safety concerns. You may have heard about Fentanyl, but did you know it’s tasteless, has no smell and a dose of just 2 milligrams can kill you?
Following the presentations, you will have an opportunity to try Fatal Vision goggles. These goggles affect your vision to simulate impairment by alcohol or drug. Attempting simple tasks with impaired vision is sure to be an eye opener for you!
Drug abuse has a negative impact on our communities. These sessions provide a great opportunity for everyone to increase their awareness and ask questions of the experts. I encourage everyone to join us at these sessions” – Inspector Dana Earley
