OPP Marine Patrol On Wildwood Lake

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Saturday July 28, 2012, Perth County OPP officers conducted marine patrol on Wildwood Lake using an OPP vessel.

During their patrol, 21 boats were checked and a number of charges were laid. One operator was charged with having no personal flotation devices on board for the occupants of the boat. While another boat operator did not have an operator’s licence. A large number of warnings were issued for minor safety equipment violations.

The Perth County OPP is attempting to have additional patrols of Wildwood Lake this summer. Their wish is that the public continues to take water safety seriously. Safety equipment when boating is vital. Check the “Canada Safe Boating Guide” for the safety equipment your vessel requires.
