(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Saturday, August 17, 2013 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a missing 8 year old boy on Williams Lake, in the Township of Chatsworth. The boy was last seen in the public swimming area. Several cottagers and area residents assisted in the search.
At approximately 6:52 p.m. the boy was found in shallow waters a few meters from shore. He was unresponsive. Grey County Emergency Service (EMS) performed emergency life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the boy could not be revived. He was transported to the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre in Owen Sound where he was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Dakota FLOOD, 8 years old, of Owen Sound, Ontario.
Grey County OPP continue to investigate. Foul play is not suspected.
