OPP Get Another Impaired Driver Off The Roads – Name Released

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A call to police from a witness helped Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) remove an unsafe driver from the roadway this past weekend.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 police received information about an erratic driver that was currently parked at the Harvey’s franchise.

Upon arrival a Huron OPP officer located the suspect vehicle, a Chrysler SLT and the driver. Upon speaking with the male driver the investigating officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail.

He was placed under arrest for Over 80 and was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. The driver later provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of his tests registered above the legal limit.

Additionally, while searching the driver’s vehicle police found a quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle.

As a result, Kevin DANVILLE, 54 years of age from Hamilton has been charged with Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle Over 80 Milligrams and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marihuana). He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 2, 2017. He was also served with an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for a week.
