(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 33 year old male recently had his driving privileges suspended for three days following a traffic stop late last week. At 8:00 p.m. on July 18, 2014 a Toyota sedan entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) checkpoint located at the intersection of Porter’s Hill Line and Union Road.
Upon speaking with the occupants the officer observed open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle. In addition, the officer determined the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a warning.
As a result, a 33 year old male driver from Central Huron was served with a three day driver’s license suspension and charged with Driving With an Open Container of Alcohol. In addition, a 32 year old male passenger was charged under the Liquor Licence Act with Having an Open Container of Liquor Other than in Licensed Premise.
