On Saturday October 17, 2015 at approximately 1 AM, the Brantford Fire Department received a call about a residential house fire. While in the process of fighting the fire a lone occupant was located inside the residence. The individual was transported to the Brantford General Hospital for treatment, but subsequently pronounced dead.
As with all fatal fires, the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the cause.
The identity of the deceased individual is not being released at the request of the family.
