In an effort to improve customer service, create convenience and reduce backlogs, the London Police Service is pleased to announce the launch of the Police Solutions website for the online submission of police record check requests. The website is hosted by our partner Forrest Green Solutions Ltd.
The Police Solutions website provides the convenience of submitting a record check request from the comfort of home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There’s no need to take time off work, drive to the police station, fill out the form and wait in our lobby. Once complete, the record check is mailed to your home address in a confidential envelope. This eliminates the need to attend in person to pick up your completed record check.
Whether applying online or in person, all record check applicants must provide proof of identity. When applying in person, two pieces of valid Government issued identification is required. One piece of identification must include the applicant’s photo, full name, date of birth and signature. When applying online, proof of identity is accomplished by answering a series of questions involving the applicant’s credit history. This is called electronic identity verification (eIV).
We recommend that you do not attempt to use the online system if you do not have an established credit history. A credit history can be established through credit cards, bank loans, bank accounts or a mortgage. Experience has shown that individuals that have lived in Canada for less than one year or are under the age of 21 do not have the credit history required to authenticate their identity online.
Applicants that do not qualify to use the online system must attend in person to submit their record check request.
All applicants must be a current resident of the city of London to submit a record check request to the London Police Service.
Although the London Police Service is urging the citizens of London to use the online system, in-person applications will still be accepted at the Records Screening counter, London Police Headquarters. Hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:00 pm.
Records Screening is closed on Wednesdays and civic / statutory holidays.
Record check fees are the same price for both online and in-person submissions, $45 for employment and $15 for volunteer.
