On Wednesday September 7, 2016, just shortly before 2:00pm, Hamilton Police officers were dispatched to the area of Wellington Street South and Grove Street after reports of a stabbing and a male suffering from injuries.
A man in his 30’s has since been transported to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police have spoken to the victim and witnesses in the area and limited information has been provided at this time.
This incident does not appear to be random in nature and no suspect information is available to be shared at this time. The area has been searched and there is no threat to public safety.
Initially Grove Street was closed but it has since been reopened.
Members of the ACTION team will be in the area canvassing for witnesses. If you have information that can assist with the investigation, you can approach the officers to speak with them.
