(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) On Monday June 24, 2013 at approximately 6:15 pm the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a swimmer in distress at the Quarry located on County Road 18 just outside of the Village of Elora.
OPP officers attended along with the Centre Wellington Fire Department and the Guelph-Wellington Emergency Services (EMS). The Fire Department assisted with the on-water search.
The Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Rescue Unit (USRU) have been called in to assist with the investigation.
This investigation is still ongoing at this time and information will be released as it becomes available.
