One Day Crackdown In School Zones Results In 47 Charges

On Thursday, November 5th, 2015, members of the South Division CORE team, School Resource Officers and Frontline patrol teamed for proactive traffic enforcement in our Cambridge area school zones. Officers responded to complaints received from the community including neighbors, crossing guards, school officials and residents. 47 charges were issued under the Highway Traffic Act in addition to a charge under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. Charges primarily were issued for stop sign violations (15), cell phone use (6), and speeding (13). Officers also patrolled schools on bikes and addressed drug complaints. Police remind the community to be cautious, obey the rules of the road in school zones, as education and enforcement will continue to ensure the safety of our youth.
