One Airlifted To Hospital After Collision Closes Hwy 6+10

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On October 14, 2016 (not October 13 as previously reported) at 1:14 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a three vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy. 6 & 10 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Initial investigation reveals that a northbound Toyota Venza vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound Chevrolet Malibu vehicle which had driven onto the west shoulder in an effort to avoid a head-on collision. The third vehicle, a Kia Forte, that was southbound behind the Chevrolet Malibu was also struck.

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, a 54-year old female from the Township of Chatsworth, was air-lifted to a London hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota Venza, an 18-year old male from Hanover, was transported to hospital in Owen Sound with minor injuries.

The driver of the Kia Forte, a 32-year old female from Brantford, was not injured.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is assisting with the investigation which is ongoing.

Hwy. 6 & 10 between Grey Rd. 16 and Sunny Valley Road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
