On June 24th, 2015, a 24 year old Kitchener man was arrested trafficking in stolen property. During the arrest a 35 year old Kitchener man operating a stolen pick-up truck drove at a police vehicle. A Waterloo Regional Police officer was struck by the vehicle and sustained minor injuries. The 35 year old male was later arrested and charged with a number of offenses including assaulting a peace officer, dangerous driving, possession of a stolen vehicle, trafficking in stolen property and various other offences. As a result of a search warrant, a large amount of stolen property including electronics, power tools, and personal documents was recovered and investigators are attempting to determine their rightful owners. The thefts occurred predominantly in the Doon area of Kitchener over the last 2 weeks.
