Officer Assaulted During Methamphetamine In Goderich – Repeat Offender Arrested

(GODERICH, ON) – A 37-year-old Goderich resident remains in custody following his arrest earlier this week for drug trafficking.

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 members from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and the Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) located the accused bicycling on Kingston Street in the Town of Goderich.

Upon stopping the accused and informing him that he was going to be arrested he immediately attempted to flee and actively resisted the officers. Officers ultimately took the male into custody and a search incident to arrest was conducted. The subsequent search revealed the accused was in possession of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine and Clonazepam.

In addition to his jeopardy of being in possession of illegal drugs the accused also assaulted a police officer that was guarding him.

Kristopher FABER, 37 years of age, from Goderich has been charged with:

Resist Peace Officer

Possession of Fentanyl for the Purposes of Trafficking

Assault Peace Officer

Possession of Methamphetamine

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2) counts

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for May 2, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
