Oakville Resident Interrupts Criminal During Break and Enter

Halton Police are investigating a break and enter to a residence on River Oaks Boulevard in Oakville where the home owner came face to face with a suspect.

On June 10th, at approximately 03:00 hours, the homeowner was awoken by a noise in the residence. The homeowner went outside the bedroom to investigate and observed a male within the home. When the suspect was confronted by the homeowner he immediately fled the home in an unknown direction.

Police responded and checked the area with the assistance of K9, however the suspect was not located. The homeowner was not physically injured during the incident and nothing was reported stolen. Initial entry to the residence was through a locked side door which had been forced open by the suspect.

The suspect can only be described as being a male wearing dark clothing. No suspect vehicle was observed.

Police are reminding the public to be vigilant in securing their homes overnight and ensure your home has proper window latches that can be effectively secured. Also keep an exterior light turned on overnight if possible.
