North Perth Collision Update – One Airlifted to London

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are at the scene of a serious two vehicle collision which occurred shortly before 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Perth Road 140 and Perth Line 90 (South of Teviotdale).

Initial investigation revealed that a tractor trailer was travelling South bound on Perth Road 140 at Perth Line 90, when it was struck within the intersection by a pickup truck travelling East bound on Perth Line 90. The impact caused extensive damage to the pickup truck and resulted in the driver of the tractor trailer to lose control of the vehicle. The tractor trailer flipped on its side and came to rest south of the intersection, blocking both the North and South bound lanes of traffic of Perth Road 140.

The driver of the pickup truck has been transported by air ambulance to a London Hospital with major injuries. The driver of the transport truck did not sustain injuries.

The tractor trailer loaded with non-hazardous materials may need to be unloaded before it can be removed from the roadway.

As a result, Perth Road 140 is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

Motorists are urged to find alternate routes around the collision location.

SERIOUS COLLISION CLOSES ROADWAY

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Thursday May 13, 2016, shortly before 8:20 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a serious collision along Perth Road 140 at Perth Line 90.

As a result of this collision Perth Road 140 has been closed between Line 89 to the South and Line 91 to the North. Perth Line 90 has closed at Road 146 to the West and at Side Road 6 to the East (in Wellington County).

Traffic will be diverted around the scene for an undetermined length of time. Motorists are urged to find alternate routes around the collision location.
