Do you believe producing food on your own property for personal consumption is a Right or a privilege? If you believe it’s a Right, then no government should pass a law infringing on that Right. If council passed a by-law prohibiting vegetable gardens in town limits, would you consider that a violation of your Rights or would you blindly accept it?
Sometime in our past chickens were ban in “residential” areas of North Huron and Morris-Turnberry. Several major Cities across Canada allow backyard chickens, as Governments promote self sustainability and access to the freshest of foods for next to no cost.
Is it time to fight for our Right to have chickens in our backyards for fresh eggs and bug control?
If you think backyard chickens should be allowed (or not allowed) in North Huron and/or Morris-Turnberry have your say by contacting trevor seip at 519-357-7759 or your favorite council member.
