Nigel Morgan TAYLOR – 133 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Wednesday June 08, 2016, around 10 p.m., an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting patrols along Perth Road 131 North of Line 83 (near Carthage), when a fast moving vehicle was observed.

An SUV was travelling north bound on Perth Road 131at a speed that appeared to be in excess of the posted speed limit. The officer activated the police radar and locked the vehicle in at a speed of 133 km/h. This is 53 km/h above the posted 80 km/h zone. The 2014 Honda CRV was pulled over and the male driver was spoken to.

The driver, 45-year-old Nigel Morgan TAYLOR of Guelph was issued a summons for “race a motor vehicle”, and for “failing to surrender a licence”. Both charges are Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offences. He is to appear at Stratford Court on July 12, 2016, to answer to these charges. His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days while his vehicle was towed from the scene, it has been impounded for a week.

The Perth County OPP wish to remind the public that the “Big 4” driving behaviours, impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt usage will be a high priority for Perth County OPP officers this spring and summer.
