(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On February 27, 2017 at approximately 2:28 a.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a northbound 2005 Dodge travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
21-year-old Nicholas GOBIN of Ottawa has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 15, 2017 to answer to the charge.
