October last year, Bill Knott addressed council, exposing how our council actually works and behaves.
Deputy Reeve David Riach contacted Mr. Knott’s employer and complained about Bill’s political views. This behaviour is a violation of virtually every Code Of Conduct, and ethical system in existence. Shortly after this, North Huron council decided to abandon the Code of Conduct they had drafted. WFP knows of several people that have not attended council meetings, as they fear repercussions from council.
The people should not fear their government, it should be the other way around.
It is shameful that Councillors will not go on the public record with their views on Riach’s actions. Their public silence makes all council seem morally bankrupt, while WFP knows this is not the case. The first person that should have stepped up to defend Bill Knott, is the other Blyth ward councillor, Brock Vodden. If Vodden took his role seriously as a Representative, he would have spoke out against the deplorable behaviour of his colleague, and offered an apology on behalf of the few councillors that know the difference between right and wrong. Vodden’s silence is a demonstration of his true character.
Thumbs Up if you think Riach did nothing wrong when he called Bill Knott’s employer.
Thumbs Down if you think David Riach should Step Down.
