(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – Members of the County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a single vehicle collision on Highway 53 in the village of Cathcart in the County of Brant at approximately 7:30 a.m. on February 28, 2017.
OPP members along with County of Brant Fire and County of Brant Ambulance service attended the scene and located a single vehicle collision.
Police investigators determined that a 2001 Dodge Ram pick-up truck had been travelling on Highway #54 when it left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.
The 64-year-old male driver has been identified as Dennis POKONZIE of the County of Brant. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The cause of the collision is still under investigation
