At 12:19 pm on July 30, 2014 Regional Police responded to the intersection of Frederick St and River Rd in the City of Kitchener for a motor vehicle collision involving a WRPS cruiser and a Hyundai Tuscon driven by a Kitchener woman. The collision occurred while the police vehicle was responding to an emergency call and proceeding through the intersection while the civilian vehicle was making a left turn onto Frederick St from River Rd. Paramedics attended and treated both drivers for minor injuries. The officer involved has been charged with an offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The investigation is continuing.
