As a result of further investigation, the 64 year old female driver of the Ford van from Wallentstein has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

On Thursday, the 6th of March 2014, at 8:40am a school bus was stopped near 3195 Ament Line in Wellesley Township. The overhead lights were activated and the stop arm was out. As a child was preparing to enter the bus a Ford van struck the rear of the bus. The driver of the Ford van, a 64 year old female from WALLENSTEIN had to be extracted from the vehicle by emergency services. She was airlifted to Hamilton Health Sciences in critical but stable condition. The 49 year old school bus driver was not injured. Of the 17 School children on board 3 complained of minor injuries. They were assessed by paramedics and released at the scene.
