Murder Investigation In Hanover – Suspect(s) At Large

(HANOVER, ON) – On April 6, 2014 at 5:51 a.m., members of the Hanover Police Service responded to reports of a disturbance in an apartment located at 476 9th Avenue in Hanover. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased male victim in the apartment with obvious signs of trauma.

The preliminary investigation has determined that a male suspect had fled the scene on foot through a back alley prior to police arrival.

The name of the deceased is being withheld until proper identification can be made and the next of kin has been notified.

The Hanover Police Service has requested the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), West Region Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU). This investigation is under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart, CIB.

Police are searching for suspect(s) considered armed and dangerous in relation to this ongoing investigation. If observed do not approach, call police immediately at 911.
