Multiple Thefts In Mitchell – Check And Secure Your Property

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Monday morning April 04, 2016, a number of reports were received by the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) regarding thefts in Mitchell that had taken place over the weekend.

Investigation revealed that the in the area of Henry St, St. Andrew St, and St. David St, residents reported footprints around their doors and windows as well as around their vehicles.

A Henry St. resident reported that an Apple I Pad 2 was removed from the residence over the weekend. The culprit entered the home by means of an unlocked front door and removed the I Pad from a table. A St. Andrew St resident reported their unlocked car entered and rummaged through sometime between Sunday evening April 3rd and Monday morning April 4th, loose change was removed from inside the vehicle.

“These weekend incidents should be a good reminder for all of us to lock and secure our properties. Whether that means locking the vehicle and pocketing the keys or ensuring that our homes are locked making it more difficult for someone to just wander into your home and remove valuables”.
