MULTI-VEHICLE COLLISION ON ROAD 131
(PERTH EAST, ON) – On Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 12:47 p.m. Perth County OPP officers responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Road 131 at Line 61, approximately 2 kilometers south of Milverton. Officers were assisted on scene by Perth County paramedics and Perth East Fire Department personnel.
The driver of a Honda Odyssey minivan was travelling southbound on Road 131 when her vehicle was struck by a GMC Savana passenger van that was also travelling southbound. The Honda van entered the northbound lane and was struck by a northbound stake truck. After colliding with the stake truck a GMC Sierra pickup travelling southbound also struck the Honda van.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Stratford General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She has been identified as Krista BOSHART, 31, from Perth East Township. The lone occupants of the other three vehicles were uninjured.
A Hazardous Materials (HazMat) team is currently on scene assisting with the safe removal of chemicals (chlorine, peroxide, phosphoric acid, and sodium hydroxide) that were being transported by the stake truck. Preliminary investigation reveals no chemicals were spilled in the collision.
The roadway is currently closed. Please take alternate routes to avoid travel delays.
