(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On February 14, 2018, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oneida Nation Paramedic Services, Middlesex-London Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Middlesex Centre Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Longwoods Road and Carriage Road, east of Delaware.
Upon their arrival, first responders located four (4) heavily damaged vehicles and a large debris field.
The preliminary investigative findings suggest that a vehicle travelling southbound on Carriage Road collided with a vehicle travelling westbound on Longwoods Road. The force of that collision caused the westbound vehicle to enter the eastbound lanes and strike two (2) eastbound vehicles.
Oneida Nation Paramedic Services and Middlesex-London EMS transported eight (8) adult patients to area hospitals. The injured include five (5) adult females and three (3) adult males. Patients were transported to hospital with varying degrees of injuries, some very serious. All injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Portions of Longwoods Road and Carriage Road were closed to traffic after the collision. The roads re-opened at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The Middlesex County OPP and OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate this collision. No charges have been laid at this time.
