Motorcyclist VS Deer

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Sunday November13, 2011 shortly after 1 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a collision on Line 90 near Road 157 south of Palmerston. The collision was between a large deer and a motorcycle.

The 32 year old male motorcyclist from Palmerston was riding his Yamaha VSC motorcycle east bound on Line 90 when a 9 point buck crossed the road in front of him. The two collided causing the rider and his bike to be thrown onto the pavement; the deer landed in the south ditch where it died. The rider was transported to the Palmerston hospital where he was stabilized and he was subsequently transported to London Health Sciences where he remains in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.
