Motorcyclist Injured In Near Miss In South Bruce

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On August 2, 2016 at 8:15 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a 2 vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce County Road 3 in Brant Township. Officers arrived to find that a north bound White Subaru Forrester started crossing Highway 9 in the path of an east bound White Honda CBR motorcycle. There was no contact, but the rider left the motorcycle while trying to avoid a collision. He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Subaru, 66-year-old Abid ASGHAR of Mississauga, was charged with fail to yield right of way.
