Motorcycle VS Van Sends One Male To Hospital

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) On Monday June 3, 2013 at approximately 6:21pm officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 just east of the Sixth Line of Guelph-Eramosa Twp involving a motorcycle and a van. Firefighters from the Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department and Paramedics from the Halton Emergency Services (EMS) also responded to the scene.

The collision occurred when an eastbound 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle struck the rear of an eastbound 2008 Honda Odessey van that was stopped behind another motor vehicle that was waiting to make a left turn into a private driveway.

The male driver of the motorcycle was taken to the Georgetown Hospital by land ambulance and subsequently airlifted to the Hamilton General Hospital with life threatening injuries. The occupants of the van were uninjured.

Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time and information will be released as it becomes available.
