On July 16, 2015 at 7:10 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a collision on Silvercreek Parkway just south of Speedvale Avenue. It is alleged that a 26-year-old Guelph male was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Silvercreek Parkway North from Speedvale Avenue West. As the motorcycle passed a business driveway on the west side of the road, it was struck by a pickup truck that was exiting that driveway.
The 27-year-old Guelph male, driving the pickup truck, has been charged with fail to yield from driveway under the Highway Traffic Act.
The motorcyclist was transported to Guelph General Hospital by paramedics and is suffering from a serious leg injury. At the time of this release he was in stable condition being medically assessed by emergency staff.
