(PERTH EAST, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, including members from the West Region Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Team are currently investigating a crash that took place east of Milverton last night (03May) that involved a motorcycle and a horse drawn carriage.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. Perth County Paramedic Services, Perth East Fire Department and Perth County OPP responded to the crash scene located on Road 124 between Perth Line 64 and Perth Line 67.
Investigators have since learned a motorcyclist was travelling southbound on Road 124 when he encountered a single horse drawn carriage that was entering onto the roadway from a private lane. The driver of the motorcycle collided with the horse and was seriously injured.
The driver was transported from the scene by land ambulance to a local hospital and then was later transferred by air ambulance to a hospital in London.
The driver of the motorcycle, 53-year-old Richard KRAMER from Milverton remains in hospital with life threatening injuries.
The occupants of the horse drawn carriage were uninjured. The horse sustained an undetermined injury.
The roadway was closed last night for several hours for the collision investigation however it has since reopened.
