On August 14, 2013 at 8:35 pm Barrie Police Service received several 911 calls regarding a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Livingstone Street West and Mcdougall Drive. It appears that a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed lost control and struck a tree and came to rest on the side of a residence.
The vehicle subsequently also struck the gas meter on the residence.
Officers had to evacuate homes in the area while the gas line was capped.
The 21 year old driver from Barrie has been charged with careless driving.
The investigation continues.
