On August 18, 2013 shortly after 1:00 a.m. emergency crews responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Goodreau Line in Romney Township. A 19-year-old Tilbury girl, also the driver, called 911 to request medical assistance as not only was she injured, but also all four of her passengers. The passengers ranged in age from 18-22 and were all Tilbury residents.
Three occupants were transported to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor while the other two were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. All have since been released.
Preliminary investigation shows that the driver was travelling eastbound on Goodreau Line when she lost control of her Ford F-150 truck. The truck left the roadway and travelled through a ditch causing approximately $5000 damage to the vehicle.
