Several motions were made and passed last night which reflect the current lack of cooperation between North Huron and Morris-Turnberry. It appears that Morris-Turnberry is not interested in participating in a joint Economic Development Committee comprised of NH &MT Councillors. This committee was going to address development issues, including the lack of industrial & commercial land which affects the entire community, which Morris-Turnberry is part of.
North Huron council has decided to form a committee comprised of one Councillor from each of North Huron’s wards. Council has decided to proceed without Morris-Turnberry’s participation. Apparently our council feel these issues are too important wait.
Council expressed a strong desire for Morris-Turnberry to participate in this committee, and it was unanimous that the door should be left open” for their return when they are ready.
WFP hopes both Morris-Turnberry and North Huron councils can work cooperatively and objectively to building a stronger and safer community.
