(WALKERTON, ON) – On July 17, 2012 the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 2 reports of overnight vehicle entries from residences along Westwood Drive in Walkerton. In both cases, the vehicles were entered while parked in the driveway. A pair of sunglasses valued at $300 was taken from a pick up truck and a GPS unit valued at $150 was taken from a mini van. Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) – On July 17, 2012 at 11:35 am, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of overnight vehicle entries from a residence in the 300 block of Concession 6, Arran-Elderslie Township. A quantity of loose change was taken. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
The South Bruce OPP is reminding vehicle owners and vehicle operators of some tips from the Lock it or Lose it initiative to help protect their property:
Always lock your vehicle when not attended
If you have a garage, use it, park your vehicle inside and lock the door
Keep your vehicle registration/proof of insurance with you, not in the car
Always park in a well lit area
Don’t leave valuables in your unattended vehicle
