On Saturday July 15, 2012, around 1:30 a.m., Perth County OPP officers observed two young males, aged 14 & 15, standing in front of a 24 hr variety store in Mitchell. The boys were apprehended and taken back to the police station. From there the parents were contacted, and the boys were picked up.

On Saturday July 15, 2012, shortly after midnight, Perth County OPP officers observed a 12 year old male walking the streets of Listowel. The boy was apprehended and his guardian picked him up at the Listowel OPP Detachment.

Parents are reminded that officers will continue to enforce this legislation. If you allow your children to wander the streets between midnight and 6 a.m., don’t be surprised to get a call from the police to pick up your child from the police station. “Parents, you are responsible”.
