The Owen Sound Police, Fire and Ambulance were called around 5:30 p.m.(02Mar2018) to the area of MacArthur Park situated on 5 th Avenue East in Owen Sound. A couple walking their dog along the parks escarpment come across someone’s personal bag. Upon their further inspection of the area they discovered a deceased adult male not far away.
Owen Sound Police uniform officers, the identifications unit and the criminal investigations branch attended the scene. The identity of the deceased male was quickly determined to be that of the missing person that was just reported earlier in the afternoon to the police.
The investigation has determined the death not to be suspicious, no foul play is suspected.
The Owen Sound Fire Department recovered the body from a very difficult area in the rugged escarpment terrain.
Respecting the privacy of family members the name of the deceased will not be released.
