(HURON EAST, ON) – At approximately 4:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified of a missing elderly female. A concerned friend reported the female missing from her residence located in Vanastra.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. officers from the Huron County OPP detachment, West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and West Region Canine Unit located the missing female. Her body was found deceased off of Front Road near the Bayfeld River.
Front Road between Huron Road (Highway 8) and 5th Avenue in Vanastra is currently closed. Huron County OPP continues to investigate.
