(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.) The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing the search for Nathan FRENCH; however the resources deployed for this were scaled back. The OPP helicopter was not able to be used due to the inclement weather over the last couple of weeks. The rain and snow has swollen the Sauble River making aerial and foot searches unproductive. The OPP is expecting water levels to drop due to the recent cold weather. Forecasts are calling for more high winds, rain and snow over the weekend. At this time members from the Bruce Peninsula OPP assisted by the Emergency Response Team and the OPP Helicopter will co-ordinate search efforts of the area as weather permits.
The OPP reminds the public that swift running water is dangerous at any time of the year and appropriate personal floatation devices and clothing should be worn when in, on, or around these waterways.
