(BRUCE PENINSULA, ON.)- On Saturday November 16, 2013, family and friends of the missing boater Nathan French were searching the banks and water ways of the Sauble River in the area where French was last seen on October 25, 2013. The Sauble River water levels had receded substantially from previous searches. Shortly after noon, family members located French’s body in the river and called the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for assistance in recovering the body.
Members from the Bruce Peninsula OPP responded and using their All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) and water craft they removed French’s body from the river. The Coroner at the scene believed the cause of death to be drowning; a post-mortem is scheduled for Monday November 18, 2013 to verify the cause of death.
The OPP do not believe that foul play was involved.
