(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on the scene in Port Stanley, Ontario.
At approximately 3:50 p.m. on July 14, 2016, it was reported that two swimmers appeared to be in distress in the water.
A 19-year-old female made it safely to shore, and is receiving medical attention. An 18-year-old male has failed to return to shore.
Members of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton, the Elgin OPP Marine Unit, the United States Coast Guard, and Ornge, are assisting at the scene.
