Mischief At Petting Zoo – One Injured – Police Seek Assistance

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Monday November 21, 2011 the Perth County OPP in Mitchell was advised by the keeper of the animals, about mischief at the Kinsman park deer pen sometime between Saturday November 19, 2011 and Sunday November 20, 2011.

Investigation revealed that persons entered the deer pen by climbing the fence near the barn causing damage to the fencing. Items inside the large pen were thrown around and a small deer was placed outside of the fenced area. Unknown persons placed the animal back in the pen prior to the animal keeper’s attendance. As a result of the activity inside the pen, one of the animals sustained an injury.

The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have information about this senseless mischief that caused injury to an animal and destroyed property which many residents cherish, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
