Ministry Of Labour Investigating Workplace Injury

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Tuesday September 28, 2010 shortly before 1:30 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a food processing plant on John St. in Dublin where a worker had been injured and was subsequently being transported to hospital.

Investigation revealed that a 26 year old male from Huron East was working at the plant when he backed into a sharp cutting tool. The tool injured the man’s back where he was not covered by his protective equipment. Perth County Ambulance attended and transported the man to the Seaforth hospital where he was treated for the non fatal injury. The man was to be transferred to Stratford General Hospital for further treatment.

A Ministry of Labour investigators attended the scene and they are continuing the investigation.
