Milton School Bus Collision – One Sent To Hospital

The students from the school bus are being transferred to another bus and will be making their way to their destination – White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville. The scene should be cleared up soon.

Preliminary indications are that the bus was travelling westbound on Lower Base Line when the eastbound car crossed the centre line on a curve and collided with the front left wheel of the bus. This occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m.

The 23yr old female driver of the car has been transported to hospital as a precaution.

We are unable to speculate on any charges at this time.

ORIGINAL RELEASE

Halton Regional Police are currently at the scene of a collision between a school bus and a car in south Milton. The school bus was carrying approximately 40 high school students and was travelling on Lower Base Line Road east of Regional Road 25.

There are no reported injuries to any students on the bus, or the school bus driver. The students’ school location/name has not yet been determined.

The driver of the car sustained injuries and is currently being attended to by EMS Paramedics.

We expect the roadway to be closed between Regional Road 25 and Fourth Line until the scene is cleared up.
