Million Dollar Grow Op Bust In Ottawa

(Ottawa)—On Thursday, June 25, 2015 at approximately 9:50pm, Ottawa Police Service Patrol Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of Kilborn Avenue. While investigating this incident, the officers fell upon a marijuana grow-op. The Drug Unit assisted the investigation, subsequently obtaining and executing a warrant for the location.

Seized items included:

949 marijuana plants (value of $949,000.00)

9.5 lbs of marijuana (value of $20,000.00)

10 pills of methamphetamine

.4gr powdered methamphetamine

Digital scale, packaging, documents

Rene LETOURNEAU, 34 years old, of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with:

Unlawfully Produce Schedule II Substance CDSA

Possess Schedule II for the Purposes of Trafficking CDSA

Theft of Electricity Criminal Code

Unlawfully Possess Schedule I Substance CDSA

A second male is outstanding in relation to this matter. This male has been identified by police; however his name will not be released prior to his arrest and charges. The Drug Unit’s investigation continues.
