Michael MacDonald – Drunk Driving, 40 km/h Over Speed Limit

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A speeder travelling 40 km/h over the posted speed limit caught the eye of a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer this past Saturday. At 6:43 p.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a Kia Optima travelling toward Lucknow on Amberley Road at a speed in excess of 40 km/h over the speed limit. Upon stopping the vehicle the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol and was displaying signs of impairment. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath; both were above the legal limit.

Michael MACDONALD, 35, from Kincardine has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Speeding. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 24, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
