(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On Thursday August 23, 2018 at approximately 3:17 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 6 near College Avenue in the City of Guelph. At that time officers investigated the female driver of a black sedan that entered into the checkpoint. After a brief investigation, the driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Officers searched the vehicle incident to arrest and determined the driver was in possession of a quantity of marihuana, heroin and methamphetamine as well as a large quantity of cash and drug paraphernalia. She was transported to a nearby OPP Operation Centre for processing.
28-year-old Teren CURRIE of Woodstock has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 grams, Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Adult Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Heroin X2 contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal court on September 25, 2018 to answer to these charges.
