(NORTH HURON, ON) – A 33-year-old from Howick will be making a trip to court later this spring to answer to some drugs and weapon related charges he is facing.
At approximately 7:38 p.m. on March 31, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer initiated a traffic stop of a Volkswagen Jetta on London Road north of Blyth. Upon stopping the vehicle the licence plate validation sticker was found to be expired and it was also learned the driver held a suspended driver’s licence.
As a result, police arrested the driver for driving while under suspension. A search incident to arrest found the driver to be in possession of a prohibited weapon (flick knife), MDMA (Ecstasy), morphine and methamphetamine.
Evan SCAMMELL, 33 years of age, from Howick has been charged with Drive While Under Suspension, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Flick Knife), Possession of MDMA (Ecstatsy), Possession of Morphine and Possession of Methamphetamine.
He was taken into custody and was later released with a court date scheduled for May 17, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham.
